Sustainability at Conscious Curations

The subject of Sustainability is something that is very important to us here at Conscious Curations. We strive to make choices that are centered around prioritising what is best for the environment, and make a commitment to having our arms wide open and brains always engaged on what are the best sustainability solutions while operating this small business.

While we recognise that true sustainability is not only difficult to achieve but so often misunderstood and undervalued, it is important to us that we make a commitment to continually growing in this space.

Our Sustainability Recognition's

As an exclusively Alémais hiring platform, we recognise first and foremost, the work that Alémais do to promote sustainable values within the fashion and design industry, specifically their climate responsible initiatives.

Some of these include: 

  • The use of fabrics that are responsibly sourced and either naturally derived and/or reused (recycled)
  • 100% digital printing, which significantly reduces the amount of water that is used compared to the conventional fabric printing techniques.
  • Planting a tree using the Ecologi initiative for each Alémais garment made.

When this brand launched, it was decided that for every Conscious Curations hire, the Ecologi forest should grow and therefore we have committed to planting 1 tree every time a garment is hired.

Our very ethos at Conscious Curations is to share the enduring beauty of Alémais, which means to extend the life of each garment through a process of intentional care for each piece.

By renting Alémais from Conscious Curations it is a way to reduce your impact on the environment, through many small acts.

  • We use climate responsible garment care practices in the way we choose to wash, steam, prepare and dry clean our collection of Alémais.
  • We use sustainable packaging by choosing biodegradable options, and ethical brands.

When it comes to our vision for the future as a brand, the intention is to continually grow in this sustainability space.

We commit to being well informed in environmental protection topics, especially those that focus on the fashion industry. As this brand grows we envision this to be a space where climate journey story telling and sustainability in fashion are continually talked about.
